Two months ago PAPS was notified about paranormal activity surrounding the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa located about 35 minutes South of Tucson. The local IT engineer that services Tubac explained that he was resting on a sofa inside the original Otero Ranch House located by the front door when he was awakened by a push on the sofa and the window drapes were pulled on top of him. Since I know the IT engineer personally I know that he is not one to make up stories. When he was asked to take a ride to the resort with us he refused do to the fright he received during the stay. We were also told that the management of the Tubac Resort would like us to perform an investigation of (3) locations.

            We traveled to Tubac for some research a week prior to get a feel for the activity they were experiencing. First we met with David Krzyzanowski the Director of Destination and Event Services. David led us through the (3) locations consisting of the original founders Otero Ranch House, the Stables Bar and Restaurant, and the administrative offices and allowed us to interview everyone that might of experienced paranormal activity. The following reports were taken on each location.

Explanation of paranomal activity by the client and employees.
Otero Ranch House – Lights turn themselves on and off. Candles appear to float in the air. Phone calls from the Ranch House to the front desk with nothing but static. A little boy they think is Johnny(the original family child who drowned on the pool by the ranch house) who waves out the windows and seems to play pranks on folks. The movement of furniture which was told by the gentlemen I know.

Bar and Restaurant – The appearance of apparitions that sit at the same table in the bar area. Unexplained sounds and unexplainable outlines in the mirror in the ladies restroom.

Administrative Offices – Footsteps and strange noises.

            We decided that the only way to isolate this much activity would be to stay the night in the Otero Ranch House and investigate all 3 locations for about 10 hours.

We showed up the following Saturday 11-15-08 with seven members of the team and our equipment consisted of (6) night vision cameras, (3) Digital Recorders, (2) EMF meters, (1) K2 meter, and several digital cameras.

            After we enjoyed a fantastic meal at the stables restaurant we were ready to begin.

We installed a (4) camera system in the Otero Ranch House, a standalone camera in the back bathroom, and a standalone camera in the Bar and restaurant. We turned off all the lights in and around the ranch house, closed all shades in the Bar and Restaurant and went to night vision mode. The team broke into (3) groups and started to cover the locations. After the investigations concluded we bedded down in the Ranch House with cameras rolling. Below are our findings:

Otero House – 11:15 pm Team 2 received a call on radio that team 1 heard strange noises coming from the bathroom where the standalone camera was. When my team met up with team 1 we found the camera system was off and the tape was at end. We noticed that the led lighting system was completely drained. After reviewing the tape, the video was blank with nothing to show. This camera was working when we left and there is no explanation to why it was drained and blank. The camera system has not worked properly since this investigation.

Otero House – 12:25:00 pm During our EVP session in the large meeting room I noticed what appeared to be a shadow person about 5 feet tall move to my left side. At the same time one of the investigators sitting across from me near the sighting felt a cold chill down his arm. About 5 minutes later we could hear scuffing of feet and what sounded like a chair sliding. Unfortunately, none of this activity could be backed up by video or audio so we throw it out.

Otero House – 02:36:50 Notice camera 1 shows an orb move across the picture heading towards the bedroom area. Approximately 5 seconds later 02:36:55 two of the investigators in the bedroom hear a unexplainable thump in the room by the bathroom. All investigators were accounted for at the time.

Otero House – 03:36:27 Notice camera 3 shows one of our sleeping investigators sit up in bed and stare at a corner of the room. Talking with him the following day he explains that he has no clue why he woke up but that he saw what looked like a mist or shadow enter into the room and leave again. The whole sighting lasts about 23 seconds before closing his eyes.

Administrative Offices – We found no activity. There was a party going on until 1:30:00 am that contaminated all audio.

Stables Bar and Restaurant – We ran audio and video for about 2 hours. The party just outside contaminated most of the recordings. The few moments that were quiet exposed nothing unusual.

Our final opinion: If you are traveling Arizona the Tubac Golf Resort And Spa is

definitely worth checking out. We believe there is paranormal activity surrounding the

Otero Ranch House and feel the Stables Bar and Restaurant is worth another trip in the

 future. If you investigate the ranch please let us know what you find.
